A fire monitor, also known as a water monitor or water cannon, is a critical component of any fire protection system. It is essentially a device that uses high-pressure water streams to control and extinguish fires.
The importance of a fire monitor in fire protection cannot be overstated. Firstly, it enables firefighters to reach and control fires that may be hard to access with standard equipment, such as fires in high-rise buildings, chemical plants and large warehouses. This is because fire monitors have a much greater reach and can shoot water or foam at a higher and more forceful rate than traditional hoses.
